About me
Krystal Campos is a journalist and video producer who specializes in breaking down complex political stories through clear, visually driven video. Her work has appeared across major national outlets, including POLITICO and Business Insider, and spans explainers, interviews, field reporting, and social-first formats.
At POLITICO, Krystal helped shape the newsroom’s digital video presence by producing the video edition of the Playbook Podcast and creating coverage that brought policy, power, and politics to life for online audiences. She also worked on cross-newsroom collaborations and contributed vertical videos to POLITICO’s award-winning Snapchat show, helping the brand reach younger and mobile-first viewers.
Krystal began her career at Univision Washington, supporting live newscasts through scripting, translation, editing, and studio production—experience that grounded her in fast-turnaround journalism and broadcast discipline.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from George Mason University and a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from American University.
Outside of work, she loved experimenting in the kitchen and searching for new recipes to try.
